Our founder spent more than 20 years working inside the diamond industry — not on the retail floor, but at the source. His career was built in Mumbai's SEEPZ (Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone), one of the world's foremost manufacturing centers for finished diamond jewelry. He watched the pricing game up close: how a stone passes through graders, wholesalers, distributors, and showrooms, each adding margin, until the final price to a customer bears little relationship to what it cost to produce.
What he saw didn't sit right. The craftsmanship was real. The markup wasn't earned.
StudsDirect exists because of that frustration — and because lab-grown diamond technology finally made it possible to do something about it.
Why lab-grown diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds are not imitations. They are diamonds — chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined stones. The same carbon lattice. The same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale). The same dispersion of light that makes a diamond catch the eye across a room.
The difference is provenance and price. Without the cost of extraction, land rights, and supply-chain opacity, a lab-grown diamond can be offered at a fraction of the price of a comparable mined stone — without sacrificing any of the quality that makes diamonds meaningful.

It documents the exact characteristics of your stone: carat weight, cut grade, color, clarity, and origin. When a diamond carries an IGI certificate, you know precisely what you're buying. We include IGI certification on every diamond because our customers deserve to verify what they paid for.
